Burton beats Abingdon 5-1 in Boy's Tennis

Burton won 5-1 at UVA-Wise on Tuesday. Abingdon's coach forfeited the doubles, saying it was too cold. It was only 40 degrees. The girls team from Abingdon continued to play J.J. Kelly through this "COLD" weather.

Is Chelsea Phipps still playing for Abingdon? Im thinking she is either a senior or a college freshman, she and Sheets are pretty even, Phipps may be better.

Beg to differ.phipps is a good player,but she couldnt carry Tara Sheets racket.

Theyve played each other before, both have beat each other so spare me the "tara is god" stuff.

Chelsea is at a disadvantage playing in AA. She would have state championships too if she were in 1A.

If she is better than Tara it doesnt matter whether she is playing AA or AAA.Spare me the Tara jealousy.

well lets see, the girl that beat Chelsea at State(Blakeley Griffith,Loudon County) plays D1 for UT now. Tara beats Ashton Downs from Radford to win a state championship who probably at best plays D2 in college now. So you decide who is playing against tougher competition. It makes a big difference. Maybe Gate City should move to AAA and play Mills Godwin since Tara is so great that it wouldnt matter. She might be able to crack the top 6 there, maybe.

Youre the one that said she couldnt carry Tara's tennis racquet. There is no jealousy from me, Tara is awesome, but youre crazy if you think that Chelsea Phipps isnt on her level. Phipps is an awesome player.

and another thing, Ive never met someone that plays tennis that doesnt even know how to spell racquet. That makes you look real stupid.

that's unfortunate for the girls from abingdon that their coach would forfeit a portion of their match. sets a bad example.

Abingdon's girls played JJ Kelly and beat them 7-2. Abingdon's coach is new this year. She is a former JJ Kelly player and I doubt she would forfeit matches! [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]
